Food Technology

Food technology caters for all ages across the school from primary to post 16. A range of cooking and food hygiene opportunities are offered to accommodate individual interest in health and nutrition whilst the Jamie Oliver Btec qualification is available for those who wish to develop their skills further. Cooking helps to develop a range of skills which translate across into other subjects including English, Maths and Science and it also supports the development of social and communication skills through group work and independent learning. At Headstart School we endeavour to encourage healthy eating and wellbeing whilst raising the student’s awareness of other cultures through exciting and stimulating food related project work supporting out termly topic and cultural days.
