Post 16
Our college provision welcomes students from 16 years to currently 21 years.
Students enrol on tailor made programmes to guide them forward to a more independent future. Students are taught in very small nurture groups and/or one to one to support each individual’s needs.
A variety of complimentary therapies are available for students including; speech and language therapy and occupational therapy. Qualified and caring staff teams are dedicated to maintaining a safe, calm and productive environment for all students.
At post 16 we continue to encourage personal and social development and employability skills. This is developed through a wide variety of vocational courses including;
With all students encouraged to enrol on the BTEC skills in independence and work course.
A range of GCSEs are also on offer including;
GCSE Art
GCSE History
GCSE PE
GCSE Mathematics
GCSE English
Literacy and numeracy are embedded throughout all courses with students given opportunities to continue their studies in GCSE maths and GCSE English.
Students who have completed GCSEs in year 11 will have the opportunity to re-sit or upgrade their qualification (to A level), in an environment where they can develop socially with the skills required to move forward to a larger setting.
